Article 1 – Definitions
By L'Aurore we mean the company behind this webshop. By customer or you we mean any consumer who makes a purchase through our webshop. By agreement we mean the purchase agreement that comes into existence between you and L'Aurore once you place an order and payment for it has been completed.
Article 2 – Applicability
These terms and conditions apply to every order you place through our webshop and to every agreement arising from it. Before completing an order, you can view and save these terms; on request, we will also send them to you by email.
Article 3 – The offer
We describe our products as carefully and completely as possible, so you know exactly what you're buying beforehand. Product photos are as accurate a representation as possible, but may differ slightly from the actual product due to lighting, screen settings, or material properties. If an offer contains an obvious error — for example in the price — you cannot derive any rights from it.
Article 4 – Prices
All prices on our website include VAT, unless stated otherwise. Shipping costs are always shown before you check out. Prices may change, but never retroactively: once you've ordered and paid, the amount you owe won't change.
Article 5 – The order
Your agreement with L'Aurore comes into existence once your order is placed and payment has been successfully completed. You'll immediately receive a confirmation by email. If we suspect fraud or misuse, or if we reasonably doubt whether an order can be properly fulfilled, we reserve the right to refuse an order or to impose additional conditions — we'll always explain why.
Article 6 – Payment
You can pay using the payment methods we offer in the webshop. We only process your order once payment has been successfully completed. If you notice an error in your payment details, please let our customer service know as soon as possible so we can sort it out together.
Article 7 – Delivery
We do everything we can to deliver your order as quickly and carefully as possible. If you order before 8:00 PM on a business day, we ship the same day; if you order after that, on a weekend, or on a public holiday, we ship the next business day. The delivery address is the address you provided with your order.
Average delivery time is 1 to 3 business days within the Netherlands and 2 to 4 business days within Belgium. These timeframes are an estimate, not a firm commitment: busy periods at the carrier or circumstances beyond our control may cause delays.
If delivery is nevertheless delayed, or if we can't (fully) fulfil your order, we'll let you know no later than 30 days after your order was placed. In that case you have the right to dissolve the agreement free of charge, with a full refund and, where applicable, compensation for demonstrable damages.
The risk of damage or loss during transport lies with L'Aurore until the moment your order is delivered to you.
Article 8 – Right of withdrawal (cooling-off period)
You have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receipt, without giving a reason. This period starts on the day after you receive your package, or — for an order consisting of multiple packages — the day after you receive the last package.
If you cancel within those 14 days, you then have another 14 days to actually return the product. You can notify us via our customer service; as soon as we receive your notice, we'll send you an immediate confirmation of receipt along with return instructions.
During the cooling-off period, you may inspect and try the suitcase the way you would in a physical shop: open it, look inside, roll it a short distance across the floor. Use that goes beyond that — such as actually taking the suitcase on a trip — may result in a deduction from your refund to reflect the reduced value. If we failed to properly inform you of your right of withdrawal, we forfeit the right to apply this deduction.
The cost of returning the product is your responsibility.
Article 9 – Refunds
As soon as we receive your cancellation notice — or as soon as you can show that you've shipped the product back, if that's earlier — we'll refund the full purchase amount, including the original shipping costs. We do this free of charge, within 14 days, using the same payment method you used, unless you explicitly agree to a different method.
Article 10 – Warranty
The statutory warranty applies to our products: your suitcase should do what you can reasonably expect from it under normal use. This warranty does not cover wear from normal use or damage from misuse.
Article 11 – Liability
L'Aurore is not liable for indirect damages, such as consequential loss or loss of income. Our liability is, to the extent permitted by law, in all cases limited to the amount of your order.
Article 12 – Complaints
Do you have a complaint? Please contact our customer service and describe your complaint as fully as possible. We'll confirm receipt and respond with a substantive answer within 14 days. If your complaint needs more time to look into properly, we'll let you know within those 14 days when you can expect a fuller response.
Article 13 – Governing law
Dutch law applies to all agreements with L'Aurore. If we can't resolve a dispute together, it will be submitted to the competent Dutch court.
Article 14 – Gift cards
In addition to these terms and conditions, the following terms apply to gift cards issued by L'Aurore. By using an L'Aurore gift card, you agree to these terms.
- These terms apply to all gift cards issued by L'Aurore, both digital and physical, jointly referred to below as "gift cards".
- Each gift card has a unique code. Keep it safe: in case of theft or loss — including accidentally deleting the email containing your code — we cannot offer compensation. Only original gift cards and codes issued by L'Aurore are valid.
- To use your gift card, enter the code at checkout in the "gift card or discount code" field and click "apply". The balance is deducted from your purchase amount immediately.
- The value and any validity period of your gift card can be found on the card itself or in the email in which you received the code.
- Your gift card is valid for 1 year from the date of purchase. If you don't use it in time, the remaining balance will expire.
- You can only redeem a gift card in L'Aurore's official webshop.
- Gift cards cannot be applied retroactively to orders you've already completed.
- Gift cards, or any remaining balance, cannot be exchanged for cash.
- If the total amount of your order is higher than the balance on your gift card, you pay the difference using one of our other payment methods.
- If, under Article 9, we refund (part of) your purchase amount and you partly paid with a gift card at the time, we will preferably refund that part as gift card credit.
- It is not permitted to alter, counterfeit, or otherwise tamper with gift cards or how they work, including hacking.
- We reserve the right to refuse payment by gift card and to request a different payment method. If you're unable to comply, we may cancel the order.
- We may amend these gift card terms from time to time. Please check them each time before use; if you continue to use your gift card after a change, you accept the amended terms.
